Splendid beach front & mountain rain forest sanctuary

property for sale in Drake, Osa, Costa Rica.

Quillotro (kee-YO-tro) is a private Wildlife Refuge overlooking the Pacific, surrounded and secured by magnificent rain forest.

It conserves the rain forest, allows development of private areas excluded from Refuge and secures occupation of the beach area.

There are 52 hectares ~ 130 acres of clear titled property,  half of which (26 ha~65 ac) are excluded from Refuge, remainder conserved.

7ha~18ac of the excluded part are mostly flat with ocean view - a clear canvas prime for development.

Several forest sites may also be developed, some already have gardens and fruit trees, bamboo, cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, teak.

The ZMT / beach area is 15ha~37ac, 1.1km~0.7mi beach front, with government issued Land Use Permit,

of which 4.5ha~11ac are zoned for development for residential/recreational use, conservation, eco-tourism.

Readily accessible, 15 minutes by car to nearby village, about half an hour to Drake Bay airport, a 45 minute flight to San José.

Beach area access is only pedestrian or boat, no cars. Private area access secured by surrounding dense forest, cliffs and canyons.

Approved Refuge Management Plan includes 4 residences, 20 cabins, research, recreation and support facilities and infrastructure.

Development of private areas excluded from Refuge are at your discretion -- not subject to Management Plan.

Abundant, pure water from year-round spring, with several creeks, swimming holes and caves,

lots of trails through mountains and canyons with old growth rain forest.

Quillotro has been and can remain off-grid with hydro- and solar-electric,

or grid electricity soon available at the bordering road if you wish.

With incredible wildlife everywhere you look, the Osa Peninsula has been famously called

'the most biologically intense place on Earth'.

This is a rare opportunity

- the most beautiful piece of beach front tropical rain forest on the market -

investment in property of this caliber rarely comes available.

It's been my privilege to conserve a truly awesome ecosystem and legacy.

It can now be yours.
